Project 2
Research in Asian Architecture
As an extension from Project 1: Reading the Contexts of Traditional Streets, Project 2 requires us to narrow down our scope of study into the research of a specific issue on a specific street. As a group, based on the chosen direction of study, we had to create a relevant research title and compile all our analyses in an A1 poster.

Reflection

For my Project 1, I researched on Jalan Hang Kasturi in Melaka. As a result, in this project I had to rely on my groupmates as we were researching on a different street in an entirely different state. Thankfully, I had great teammates. We created our own Discord channel for group meetings and everyone was an active participant. Through this assignment, I learned the importance and the advantages of working as a team, especially in projects like these which cover a wide range of sub-topics and materials. Moreover, through the exchange of ideas and opinions, I am able to gain new perspectives on the topics discussed. Research-wise, I got to discover new questions that I have not thought of before, especially the factors considered before re-using or renovating a historically-rich building. Overall, this group project has been a pleasant experience.

p.s. I hope to visit these streets in person one day. When all this is over.
