Project no.3
Interpretation and Representation: Principles, Tectonics and Sensory
The final project requires us to rigorously execute all the methodology and skills that we have acquired from Project 1 and 2. It is divided into three stages:
1. Deconstruction + identification of dominant theme from tectonic structure in Project 2.
2. Re-exploration of the relationship between banal action and previous design. Explore spatial relationships in relation to poetic architecture.
3. Development of design that captures sensorial experiences and a clear understanding and application of knowledge and skills acquired from the previous projects.
In this final project, I learned how to develop a conceptual narrative with emphasis on the sensorial quality of space. In this, I was directed to focus on the architectural details that create and sculpt the user journey, such as light and shadow, and the texture and nature of materials. Not forgetting the practicality of the design, I am required to take into account the measurements of the human body (doing the action) in the decision-making process. Moreover, I sharpened my design communication skills through sketches, study models, and drawings.

This sensorial space aims to embody the essence of the banal action of stretching. In this structure, the user will go along a journey of stretching from static stretching to dynamic stretching. Along the journey, the user will go through three stages which are constricted, expectation, and finally euphoria. In this space, abstract ideas meets concrete in the form of material, form, light, and shadow play.
